Sidewalk chalk art has become a worldwide phenomenon, with a few highly talented artists creating a public stir in various countries. In this article, we focus on German artist Edgar Mueller.

Edgar Mueller was born in Mülheim in 1968. His artistic talent was already noticeable as a young child painting murals of the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Since 1998, Edgar Mueller has held the title of ‘maestro madonnari’ (master street painter), awarded at the world’s largest street art festival, The Grazie Festival, which is held annually in Italy. Mueller has traveled around the world, creating fascinating artworks along many sidewalks in various cities.
